Virtuoso Orchestra (Period 2nd)

Audition required
The CAMS Virtuoso Orchestra is the top-performing orchestra ensemble, with mostly 7th & 8th grade students. The orchestra focuses on repertoire that will fully challenge the students’ abilities and prepare them for challenging competitive and concert opportunities. Two octave scales, shifting, vibrato, bow technique, and ensemble experience are required to audition for this orchestra. Students must be willing to commit to independent practice in addition to the orchestra class period, which meets every day during the school day. Encouraged to provide their own instruments, Virtuoso students will perform two concerts and participate in UIL Concert & Sight-reading Competition at the Varsity level per calendar school year. (Current 5th, 6th, 7th grade students who meet the criteria are eligible and invited to audition.)
