Scholar Orchestra (Period 3rd)

Course Description

CAMS Scholar Orchestra (Violin, Viola, Cello, String Bass)

No audition required
The CAMS Scholar Orchestra is the second performing group made up of experienced 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students. Students in this orchestra must be fundamentally proficient on their instrument. Students will build on the techniques acquired in previous orchestra classes and will learn repertoire that challenges and reinforces music reading skills. 2 octave scales, shifting, vibrato, bow technique and ensemble technique will be introduced and reinforced while preparing students for the Virtuoso Orchestra. Encouraged to provide their own instruments, students will perform two concerts and participate in UIL Concert & Sight-reading Competition at the non-varsity level per calendar school year.
