RtI Math

Hello,

My name is Mrs. S E  Wade. I am the Math RtI teacher here at the  Cumberland  Academy Middle School. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler. I teach Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grade students.
My goal each day is to help students who need help with Math and to encourage them that we all can be successful in Math. I also work with other teachers in the Math Department to help make sure our student's individual gaps in learning are addressed.

I have been teaching school here in Tyler for twenty-years now.  I am so proud to be a part of Cumberland Academy Middle School  and to have the opportunity to work with your children and to help them build a confidence in their Math skills. It is a privilege to teach Math and to have the chance to be positive influence in children's lives.

Response to Intervention (RtI) is an approach that schools use to help all students, including struggling learners. The RtI approach gives Texas students opportunities to learn and work at their grade level and below if necessary in smaller groups. The idea is to help all students be successful in Math. RtI does not replace their homeroom Math class and does not last the entire school year, the length of time and content of the material is determined by the student's needs. These skills are focussed on in RtI class with no additional homework, but rather in school support, to address a students unique math skill deficits and needs.

I look forward to having a great year.
