Student Council

The Student Council is the first student-elected Student Council group for CAMS.  The students were required to apply with two teacher recommendations.  At that point, the names of those with qualified recommendations were put on a ballot and an election was held.  We are pleased to have four 8th grade students, and eleven 7th grade students that were elected to serve the students of CAMS.
By participating in Student Council, the group has performed such tasks as planning dances, planning Red Ribbon Week activities, hosting teacher luncheons during STAAR and community service, including participating at the CAES Fall Festival, and ringing the Salvation Army bell.  Their personal highlights include being able to get out of class early to decorate for dances and using hot glue guns!  The Student Council has taken a trip to a different historical and educational site in Texas each year previous.  Places have included Austin, Houston, Galveston and San Antonio. For the future, we are planning many more exciting ventures.  All we need is you!  If you are a natural-born leader, plan to try out CAMS Student Council!
