Welcome to a new school year 2023 - 2024. My name is Mrs. Erika Ramirez and I am excited to be at Cumberland Middle school. I have been teaching Spanish since 2005. This is my 3rd year at Cumberland and I love our school community. Teaching has been a passion of mine, and I excited to make this year your best foreign language class.

Spanish I is a beginning level course. This is a course to assist you, the students, increase the ability to speak, read and write. Students will begin to develop their Spanish proficiency through extensive interaction in the target language. We will engage in speaking, reading, listening and writing activities in order to gain proficiency in Spanish. The objective of this class is to help master basic communication skills in Spanish. In addition, we will be exploring the cultural aspects of many of the Spanish speaking Countries. This course is for one high school foreign language credit.
